This offer is now closed and installation of the Boilers well under way
John Cleveland College (JCC) Community Woodheat is a ground-breaking community energy co-operative which will install a renewable woodfuel heating system to supply heat to a Leicestershire secondary school.
The system will reduce carbon emissions and energy costs, stimulate the growth of a local and sustainable woodfuel economy, and support the education of school children on renewable energy, sustainability and climate change.
Income from the Co-operative will be used to fund the development of further renewable energy installations in Leicester and Leicestershire, and will create a fund for local community projects over the next 20 years.
To make this project happen we need to raise over £600k by December 2013 through a community share offer.
People and organisations can invest anything from £250 to £20,000 to become a member of the new JCC Woodheat Co-op.
Members will go on to receive a projected average return on investment of 9% a year, and will manage the future affairs of the co-op on a one member one vote basis.
