Green Fox Community Energy Co-operative

Green Fox Community Energy Co-operative (Green Fox) is Leicester and Leicestershire’s very own community energy co-operative. Established by local people, the co-operative aims to facilitate the increase of community owned renewable and low carbon technology in Leicester and Leicestershire.

Green Fox are constantly developing new projects and opportunities within the community energy sector and would love to hear from you if you would like to explore a potential project, or are just interested in community energy.

Official Launch was on 16th September 2023 at Tilton on the Hill Village Hall Leicestershire’s first electric car club

Our latest project is the creation of an electric car club at Tilton on the Hill which is open to everyone in the parish and provides affordable, easy to use, emission free transport, with fast charging points. It has been supported by Harborough District Council, Tilton Village Hall and developed in partnership with local people.

The initiative has been funded by the Motability Foundation and offers a ‘need a lift scheme’ for residents that are less mobile. It is part of a national pilot to help develop a blueprint for rolling out electric car clubs across the country. Read more…

Community Solar photovoltaic (PV)

Green Fox is working with Leicestershire County Council, Willmot Dixon and the OWLS Academy Trust to enable community investment and ownership of PV arrays at schools in Leicestershire. There will be an opportunity to invest in local renewable energy with a return of ~ 5%, provide lower cost electricity for school buildings and contribute to reduced carbon emissions.
